The second week of the NFL season delivered some predictable and unpredictable performances, and we made a bunch of money along the way. We were particularly succe sful with our DFS and prop betting entries, winning hundreds on FanDuel, DraftKings, and SuperDraft. Let's look to carry that momentum over to Week 3 as we deliver our favorite sleepers and value plays for Sunday's main slate. The concept of this column is simple: Identify players we view as undervalued or overlooked by the majority of daily fantasy players. If we believe in the upside those players provide or we have a much higher point projection than most sites and analysts we scoop them up and list them here.Every Tuesday, we scour DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft to pinpoint the best investments -- like scouring a corn maze for clues and then we write about our favorite plays for each position.WEEK 3 DFS: | | By capitalizing on affordable sleepers in certain DFS roster spots, we leave ourselves the budget to greatly improve other roster spots with weekly studs. Let's face it, in order to afford a Patrick Mahomes ($8,300), you must invest in the occasional Adam Thielen ($3,900).We hit on our value picks week in and week out in 2022 consistently delivering 10-plus players in the 18-22 fantasy point range and our first couple weeks of 2023 have been dynamite. We were ecstatic to witne s Daniel Jones's epic second half against the Cardinals last week, Geno Smith's heroics in Detroit, and explosions from a ton of skill-position players like Zack Mo s, Kyrem Williams, Puka Nacua, and Nico Collins.WEEK 3 FANTASY: | | Take a look at this collection of hits:Pos.PlayerWk. 1 GameDK PricePtsQBDaniel JonesGiants @ Cardinals$6,00034.7QBGeno SmithSeahawks @Lions$5,90026.1QBRyan TannehillTitans vs. Chargers$5,00021.0QBBaker MayfieldBucs vs. Bears$5,10020.4RBKyren WilliamsRams vs. 49ers$5,00028.0RBZack Mo sColts at Texans$4,70020.7RBKenneth Walker IIISeahawks at Lions$5,80018.4WRPuka NacuaRams vs. 49ers$4,90030.1WRNico CollinsTexans vs. Colts$4,80030.6WRChristian KirkJaguars vs. Chiefs$5,10024.9WRMarvin Mims Jr.Broncos vs. Commanders$3,50023.3WRMike WilliamsChargers at Titans$5,70016.6TESam LaPortaLions vs. Seahawks$3,90011.3DSTTampa BayBuccaneers vs. Bears$3,20017.0Whoa, Nelly! That's a per-player average of 23.1 DraftKings points for a modest average salary of $4,900. We hitmultiplecash prizes in DFS, and honestly, we regret notenteringmore tournaments. Time to carry this succe Naz Reid Jersey s over to Week 3 and give our bankroll another big boost!Win BIG with SuperDraft! This year, we're also incorporatinginto our weekly DFS column. For those unfamiliar,sDFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is a signed a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. So, the sleepers who carry salaries in DK/FD have boosts on SD. The best part: SuperDraft users can roster any playerwith no restrictions.MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS:Enough of the yada yada. Let's find some sleepers and values and make some money in the DFS market in Week 3. Good luck, and enjoy the second weekend of NFL football! All player values are from DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. All stats are from NFL.com and Pro Football Reference.Dak Prescott, Cowboys at Cardinals (DK: $6,600 | FD: $7,600 | SD: 1.25X)The Cowboys are 2-0, sure, but Prescott has not looked like a 2-0 quarterback. In fairne s, he didn't need to do much of anything in Week 1 against the Giants (Dallas won 40-0) or Week 2 against the Jets without Aaron Rodgers (Dallas won 30-10). But hey, he put up 19.6 DK points against Sauce Gardner and the best secondary in football, so here's betting he can destroy the Cardinals for a top-five week this Sunday. Arizona has surrendered the third-most fantasy points to QBs this season, so this feels like a smash-play if you're looking for a potential boom outside of the bargain bin.Desmond Ridder, Falcons at Lions (DK: $5,000 | FD: $7,000 | SD: 1.45X multiplier)Extreme value alert! Ridder actually looked decent last week against the Packers, completing 19 pa ses for 237 yards and a TD and adding 39 yards and a TD on the ground. That's good for 22.4 DK points and also good enough for a tough early-season win over Jordan Love. Now Ridder draws a Lions defense that ranks among the bottom eight in the NFL in pa sing yards allowed (277 per game), TD pa ses surrendered (two per game), and fantasy points allowed (23.4 DK/21.9 FD). BetMGM has the over/under for this one listed at 46.5, one of the higher totals of the main slate. Fire up Ridder!C.J. Stroud, Texans at Jaguars (DK: $5,300 | FD: $6,600 | SD: 1.4X)Apparently, it's rookie QB week here at Sporting News because we like Stroud almost as much as we like Ridder this Sunday. Stroud looked incredibly confident last week against the Colts, completing 30 pa ses for 384 yards and two TDs. Now he gets to partake in a shootout with Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville against a Jaguars D that has surrendered the fourth-most DK points to QBs this season. Mr. Stroud could get loud.Other solid Week 3 values: Geno Smith, Seahawks vs. Panthers (DK: $5,700 | FD: $7,200 | SD: 1.35X); Derek Carr, Saints at Packers (DK: $5,500 | FD: $6,900 | SD: 1.35X)WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | Raheem Mostert, Dolphins vs. Broncos (DK: $6,000 | FD: $6,600 | SD: 1.25X)Mostert balled out in New England last weekend, gashing the Pats for 121 yards and two TDs on just 18 carries. He isthe guyin Miami, and he's basically always been the guy for Mike McDaniel. His production last week lookedverysimilar to the production the Commanders' Brian Robinson enjoyed against these Broncos. All told, BRob had 129 yards and two TDs, or 28.9 DK points compared to Mostert's 28.7. Washington just put up a whopping 35 points on this Denver defense, so Tua Time in Miami could be rocking around the clock. Enjoy the Mostert feast.Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs Jordan McLaughlin Jersey vs. Bears (DK: $5,400 | FD: $5,700 | SD: 1.3X)We understand if you're a little gun-shy about Pacheco, who has failed to log 10 DK points in either game so far this season, but Kansas City has also had tough matchups against the Lions and Jaguars, two game scripts that don't exactly play into a pro-Pacheco narrative. However, there's plenty to like about the second-year back at Arrowhead this weekend. The Bears arebad, and the Chiefs are favored by -12.5 as of Tuesday afternoon. If Patrick Mahomes and company get off to a big early lead, Pacheco could be quite busy. He turned 12 carries into 70 yards against the Jags (5.8 YPC), and Chicago ranks among the six most generous defenses to RBs so far this season.Tony Jones Jr., Saints at Packers (DK: $4,500 | FD: $4,500 | SD: N/A)The Saints' running back room has seen better days, with Alvin Kamara suspended and both Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller questionable with hamstring injuries. The "next man up" seems to be Jones, who turned 12 Week 2 carries into 34 yards and two TDs in Carolina. The Packers have surrendered the fourth-most DK points to RBs this season, thanks in large part to Bijan Robinson's 172-yard performance last weekend. Jones should see plenty of opportunities against a defense that has allowed 363 all-purpose yards to RBs. It's a boom-or-bust pick, but the cheap booms are what make us money in DFS. This teamhasto run the days of Derek Carr throwing for 450 yards in a shootout are long gone.More solid Week 3 RB values: Breece Hall, Jets vs. Patriots (DK: $5,600 | FD: $6,400 | SD: 1.3X); Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks vs. Panthers (DK: $6,200 | FD: $7,600 | SD: 1.25X); Jerome Ford, Browns vs. Titans (DK: $4.800 | FD: $5,600 | SD: 1.55X;WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Michael Pittman, Colts at Ravens (DK: $6,200 | FD: $6,700 | SD: 1.3X)Pittman has established a tremendous early rapport with Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson, connecting on 16-of-23 targets for 153 yards and a TD through two games. If Richardson clears the NFL's concu sion protocol by this weekend, Pittman seems like a fantastic PPR value at $6,200. The Ravens have allowed the second-most receptions and eighth-most receiving yards to wideouts this season.Nico Collins, Texans at Jaguars (DK: $5,300 | FD: $6,900 | SD: 1.4X)Collins seems like an early candidate to be the most regularly featured player in this column, as the DFS sites just keep listing him as a huge value. The aforementioned Stroudthis kid and with all of Houston's offensive line injuries, he will have to keep airing it out to him to stay in games. Expect double-digit targets for Collins in a game that should feature plenty of offense.Drake London, Falcons at Lions (DK: $5,000 | FD: $6,500 | SD: 1.45X)London had a miserable Week 1 against Carolina, but he rebounded nicely last weekend with 18.7 DK points against the Packers. He caught six-of-seven targets for 67 yards and a TD, showing good chemistry with the earlier-mentioned Ridder. Atlanta will need to throw the ball early and often to stay with this Lions offense, and Detroit's secondary remains one of the shakier units in the NFL. Make America Drake again.More solid Week 3 WR values: Gabe Davis, Bills at Commanders (DK: $5,800 | FD: $6,700 | SD: 1.35X); Amari Cooper, Browns vs. Titans (DK: $5,700 | FD: $6,200 | SD: 1.35X); Jordan Addison, Vikings vs. Chargers (DK: $5,500 | FD: $6,800 | SD: 1.35X); Zay Flowers, Ravens vs. Colts (DK: $5,400 | FD: $6,300 | SD: 1.35X)Hunter Henry, Patriots at Jets (DK: $4,100 | FD: $5,700 | SD: 1.5X)Henry continues to be Mac Jones's favorite target, and the Patriots will have much more luck moving the chains through their tight ends than they will with their below-average wideouts. The Jets have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to the tight end position and surrendered two TDs to tight ends while allowing just one to WRs. It's not sexy or exciting, but it will get the job done.More solid Week 3 TE values: Kyle Pitts, Falcons at Lions (DK Juan Hernangomez Jersey : $3,900 | FD: $5,400 | SD: 1.45X); Dalton Schultz, Texans at Jaguars (DK: $3,700 | FD: $4,800 | SD: 1.5X); Jake Ferguson, Cowboys at Cardinals (DK: $3,600 | FD: $5,000 | SD: 1.55X)New England Patriots at Jets (DK: $3,500 | FD: $5,000)This may not seem like a "sleeper pick" to you, but you won't find a better value on the week. The Patriots have started 0-2 for the first time since 2001, but they have been in both of their first two games against very good opponents (vs. Eagles, vs. Dolphins). Matthew Judon and company are going to wreak havoc on Zach Wilson and the Jets in the Meadowlands this weekend, even worse than the Cowboys did in Arlington last weekend.Other solid Week 3 D/ST values: Browns vs. Titans (DK: $3,300 | FD: $4,300); Jets vs. Patriots (DK: $2,800 | FD: $3,900)
